Each year, thousands of households in the Greater Twin Cities transition from homelessness to stable housing yet lack the everyday essentials needed for a safe, stable home.
A shortage of affordable housing combined with the high cost of food, utilities and more are making the housing crisis in our region more severe. In fact, nearly 11,000 people experience homelessness every night in Minnesota, including more than 6,000 in the metro area — and those numbers continue to grow each year.
We know that stable housing is the key to success in school, work, health, family and community life. Without a place to live and belong, everything else in life becomes more complicated. Join Greater Twin Cities United Way during Home For Good to provide our neighbors with welcome home bins filled with towels, kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, hygiene necessities, blankets and more.
The collection period has concluded at Bremer Bank open drop-off locations. If you have not had a chance to donate your items, please email VolunteerUnited@gtcuw.org to arrange a time to drop off at Greater Twin Cities United Way's office location in downtown Minneapolis.
Thanks to our friends at Bremer Bank, dollars will be doubled, up to $10,000.
If you're unable to make it to the store, shopping our Home For Good Amazon Wish List is an easy and efficient way to make a difference.
