Greater Twin Cities United Way today announced that Ecolab has donated $575,000 to support the organization’s work in educational success and social and racial justice. The gift will support United Way’s ongoing work to ensure more children and youth have access to the resources they need to thrive in school and beyond. It also will support efforts to advance racial and social justice through a multi-year partnership between Greater Twin Cities United Way, The Minneapolis Foundation and the St. Paul and Minnesota Foundation.
“We’re grateful for our longstanding partnership with Ecolab in creating a more equitable Greater Twin Cities,” said John Wilgers, president and CEO of Greater Twin Cities United Way. “This investment will help ensure more students have access to a high-quality education and will support vital racial and social justice efforts, which are needed now more than ever.”
Ecolab’s gift will support United Way’s continued work in educational success, to help foster a Greater Twin Cities region where all children are ready to thrive academically, personally and socially – regardless of income level, race or place of residence. Together with its partners, United Way focuses on the cradle-to-career continuum, ensuring young children and parents have access to high-quality early childhood education and child care, kids have the resources they need to learn and thrive in school, and high school youth are supported with real-world work and career experiences.
“Ecolab is proud to support our local communities,” said Kris Taylor, Vice President Community Relations and Ecolab Foundation. “United Way is well positioned to listen to our community and can help to continue to advance education as well as social and racial justice equity for all.”
