    Recognizing that an engaged and community-minded workforce is a strong asset for tremendous good, Land O’Lakes has built a Culture of Community through their involvement with United Way. Year after year, their leadership has resulted in tremendous results across employee giving and volunteer engagement.

    Ever since opening its first store in 1962, Target has been a long-standing United Way partner. They’ve invested over $1 million year-over-year in our local Twin Cities community through United Way. These generous investments fuel holistic support, build equitable and innovative solutions, and are helping to make the Twin Cities a great place to live and work.

    Bremer Bank

    In addition to generous sponsorship of United Way’s Action Day, in 2019 Bremer Bank hosted Bremer Backpack—a volunteer effort that brought together hundreds of employees from multiple locations to pack additional backpacks for local kids. Bremer volunteers packed more than 5,000 backpacks in June and the backpacks were then distributed to more than 65 Bremer locations and delivered to students in need.

Whether it’s packing kits to help provide a fresh start to new homeowners, investing in job training programs to ensure a robust workforce or providing visionary leadership to non-profit boards, U.S. Bank is leading the way in helping efforts to create stable jobs, safe homes and communities. Innovative, long-term planning made sure that their culture of “Community Possible” is felt throughout the organization.
  • 3M Corporation

    Innovative strategies to create long-term equity come from visionary leadership and community partnerships. Thanks to the generosity and leadership of 3M, United Way launched the Culturally Powered Communities (CPC) program in 2017. This innovative program was created to foster equity by building the capacity of organizations led by and serving communities of color. To date, CPC has supported 23 organizations, each with culturally unique ways of addressing our community’s most pressing challenges.

    Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux

    To support the educational success of kids in our community, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux became a generous sponsor of United Way’s Action Day in 2019. This annual community-wide volunteer event brings people together to pack backpacks for local kids in need. In addition to generous sponsorship, the organization also had strong volunteerism at the event. As part of a unique, co-created opportunity, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux distributed backpacks to several school districts offering Native American programming, including Anoka Hennepin, Bloomington, Inver Grove Heights, Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Shakopee, South Saint Paul, and South Washington County.

    When people in our community are facing hardships, they can count on support from CHS Inc. Each year, the company invests in household stability services supported through United Way—including food security and housing. What’s more, the company offers a Challenge Match Gift, matching new and increased gifts to United Way’s work in Household Stability.

    In 2019 Wells Fargo and Greater Twin Cities United Way launched a special partnership: the Giving Community Challenge Match. Wells Fargo is generously matching a total of $60,000 across United Way’s Giving Communities which include:
