Through our 211 resource helpline, we connect adults experiencing financial insecurity to education and job training resources. Often, 211 operators can recommend additional resources such as food, housing and transportation to meet basic needs and get callers set up to succeed. When financial worries lead to overwhelming stress, we respond to mental health crises through the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Through multiyear partnerships, we provide funding, technical assistance and leadership support to community-based nonprofit partners that are deeply engaged in workforce and economic development and in ending the root causes of inequities that contribute to economic disparities in our region.
Through our we Career Academies initiative, we partner with school districts, employers, higher education institutions and youth organizations to establish new career pathways programs for young people — engaging Minnesota youth in high-wage, in-demand career opportunities.

Available 24/7 and in multiple languages, 211 operators provide confidential information and referrals to statewide resources, including job training and career support, financial education and coaching, temporary financial assistance and much more.
Greater Twin Cities United Way serves people experiencing financial insecurity in Minnesota through our multiyear Community Investments partnerships, innovation initiatives and advocacy.
