Gift Will Provide Immediate Support for People Most Vulnerable to the Pandemic

To offer hope and support for the community during this time, Liberty Diversified International (LDI) announced today that it is donating $100,000 to Greater Twin Cities United Way’s Greater Twin Cities COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund. One hundred percent of donations to the fund will go directly into the community to provide immediate support for those most vulnerable.

“LDI has been a longstanding partner of United Way, and this gift will provide urgent assistance for our neighbors in need,” said John Wilgers, President & CEO of Greater Twin Cities United Way. “As pillars of our community, LDI and its generous employees, along with the entire Fiterman family, exemplify the company’s values of caring, innovation, trust and excellence through their commitment to the community.”

One of the largest privately held companies in the Midwest, LDI’s mission is to make lives better for its customers, employees, suppliers and communities. Founded in 1918, LDI has grown from a small family business to a growing family of companies, employing nearly 2,000 employees.

LDI and its employees have been giving back to the community and United Way for decades. Linda and Mike Fiterman, company owners and namesakes of the Fiterman Family Foundation, were recent recipients of United Way’s 2019 Tocqueville Society Civic Leadership Award and LDI was the recipient of the 2019 Keystone Award.

“Our world needs assistance more than ever before,” said Mike Fiterman, Chairman of LDI. “Liberty Diversified International has trusted United Way for over a century to understand the need, rally the community around it, and deliver successful outcomes like nobody else can. During a time that can feel helpless, we look to United Way to allow our employees to get and give help – offering hope to all of us. We hope our commitment to respond will inspire other companies to do the same during this unprecedented time of need.”
