Your Security

You never have to worry about security when giving online to United Way. We are committed to using the most advanced technology in the industry and to collaborating with trusted partners to offer secure online transactions.

Technology

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protects your vital information before it travels over the Internet. Information like your name, address, and credit card number is encrypted, which prevents unauthorized access.

We guarantee all information sent with SSL to United Way will be encrypted.

Third-Party Financial Institutions

All of our credit card transactions are processed by Authorize.net. A member of TRUSTe, an online security group, Authorize.net is equally committed to keeping your information secure. Your information will be encrypted and kept safe.

Security When Shopping Online

United Way has partnered with vendor(s) that allow you to shop and give at the same time. Although we have taken the greatest care in selecting these partner(s), we can not be held responsible for the security of their sites, the quality of their services, or the accuracy of their content.

While connected to a site other than United Way, you are also subject to the terms and conditions of that site. Please carefully review any rules or policies that might apply to you when visiting partner sites.

Federal Law

Under existing federal law, you generally cannot be held liable for more than $50 of fraudulent charges made on your credit card. In the unlikely event that you are subject to fraudulent charges, be sure to first notify your credit card provider in accordance with its rules and procedures.

Tax Deductibility

In general, taxpayers in Minnesota can deduct up to 50% of charitable gifts over $500 in Minnesota. United Way and its partners are not qualified to give tax advice to users. Please consult your financial advisor or banker for information about tax deductibility.
