Every year, organizations ranging from small to large partner with Greater Twin Cities United Way to create positive change in our community. Our corporate partners are a highly valued and critical part of our mission, investing their time through rewarding, team-building volunteer projects and their dollars through United Way workplace campaigns and corporate sponsorships.
One of those key partners is Bremer Bank, whose volunteer activities and innovative community investments impact thousands of lives each year. Their support to United Way includes investments in household stability for families and investments in educational success for kids.
Last year, Bremer Bank’s investments in United Way and our community provided critical support to household stability and housing initiatives helping:
Bremer Bank is committed to helping all kids succeed in school and in life. The company provided generous sponsorship of United Way’s Action Day, a community-wide volunteer event that brings people together to pack backpacks for local kids in need. At this year’s event – the largest Action Day to date – 4,500 volunteers packed 40,000 backpacks at Xcel Energy Center.
This summer, Bremer Bank and its employees took Action Day one step further by hosting Bremer Backpacks – a volunteer effort that brought together hundreds of employees from multiple Bremer Bank locations to pack additional backpacks for local kids. Bremer volunteers packed more than 5,000 backpacks in June, and the backpacks were then distributed to more than 65 Bremer locations and delivered to students in need.
In the true spirit of innovation, Bremer Bank was one of the first companies to adopt and implement Salesforce Philanthropy Cloud when launched by United Way in 2018. This new online platform is enabling Bremer’s employees to:
Lauren Beecham Henry, Bremer’s VP of Community Marketing, explains why Salesforce Philanthropy Cloud is a smart investment:
“This new platform makes giving easier and more meaningful for our employees. It is designed to educate donors about community needs and support companies in employee engagement. It also will provide new revenue for the critical community programs we support.”
This year, Bremer Bank is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and their commitment to cultivating thriving communities is stronger than ever. Through their One Bremer United Way campaign, the organization plans to make continued investments in the community while offering new engagement and volunteer opportunities for all Bremer employees across locations.
